DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY

A Portable Bladder Scanner has been supplied for use in the Dumfries and Galloway area. This allows scanning to be carried out locally without the  long and arduous journeys to Yorkhill Hospital. The use of Bladder Scanners has also cut the need in many cases of children being catheterized.

Kidney Kids Scotland has also funded a Designated Paediatric Continence Advisor for paediatric renal and urology patients and their families. This service should prove to be very valuable for the children in this area, prevention being better than cure.
