Cumbernauld Outdoor Activities Centre



We would like to extent a huge thank you to Jo,David and all the team for not only making our family bonding day a tremendous success but for all their effort raising funds to enable Kidney Kids to hold this event.

One of the consultants from the renal unit, Yorkhill suggested that Kidney Kids organise a team building day for the children with renal illness. She had found that the children would come along to their weekly clinic and sit in silence not communicating. For the last three years we have organised a day at Cumbernauld Outdoor Activity Centre. Some of the activities the children and their families participated in were - off road driving, falconry, archery and other team building exercises. The day concluded with everyone enjoying a meal together. The feed back we have had from the children, parents and hospital staff has been fantastic. It became obvious that the parents through problem sharing benefited every bit as much as the children. The waiting rooms are no longer silent!
